How To Keep Your Business Safe During the Coronavirus

Health and safety always come first; your company is nothing if the people who make it run aren’t at their best. Luckily, there are many precautions that businesses can take in order to protect their employees during the coronavirus pandemic.

At BrandX, our mission has always been to keep our customers safe on and off the job. It has been shown that, when worn with a mask, protective eyewear can help reduce the risk of contracting the coronavirus. Here are some other ways you can optimize the health and safety of your workplace:

Have a plan. Envision what your workplace will look like in a world of Covid 19. Is it possible for employees to maintain social distancing on the job? If not, what extra steps will you take to ensure their safety? What will happen in the event an employee falls ill? It’s important to not only have a detailed plan but to also communicate openly with your team.

Emphasize stringent hygienic guidelines. Provide hand wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer, and non-touch receptacles in multiple locations. Utilize clear signage to advise the best hygienic practices and remind your employees to wash their hands frequently.

Ensure routine environmental cleaning. Develop a schedule for the regular cleaning of frequently touched surfaces such as countertops, doorknobs, control panels, remote controls, etc. Provide wipes and/or cleaning solution so that employees can wipe down surfaces before use.

Encourage sick employees to isolate. If an employee is showing symptoms of acute respiratory illnesses, such as a cough or shortness of breath, do not let them come into work until they are fever-free and symptom-free for at least 24 hours without the aid of medicines. If an employee starts developing symptoms on the job, send them home immediately.

Protect your workers. Ensure that your employees have the equipment and space to stay as safe as possible. This may include gloves, hand sanitizer, face masks or shields, or protective eyewear.
